80's Jack and Jill

These exciting cupcakes were for the Jack and Jill of the same girl who ordered the hatter pops! I had so SO much fun making them! Takes me back. Which is kind of funny because I was born in '86...so it's not really like I grew up in the 80's ...but I remember loving all this stuff in the 90's ! ahah

A Mad Tea Party !

Mad Hatter: Would you like a little more tea?
Alice: Well, I haven'd had any yet, so I can't very well take more.
March Hare: Ah, you mean you can't very well take less!
Mad Hatter: Yes! You can always take more than nothing!

A tea party indeed! These hatter pops were done for a bridal shower over the weekend. I personally am a HUGE Alice in Wonderland fan and was thrilled when I was asked to make these <3

There are some things I would maybe try differently next time. Afterwards I thought about actually shaping the pops into hats! Or adding little 'eat me' cookies to the party! This being said I'm still happy with them!

I certainly cannot take all the credit! A big BIG thank you to Ginny Milling for all her help in making the toppers! I was so busy this past week and I don't think I would have made it without you! <3 Here's to the beginning of something awesome!

Avengers

In keeping with the super hero thing I've got going on this week :) I thought it appropriate to post these hero pops! Myself, my best friend in the whole world, and her awesome sista went to the midnight screening of the avengers movie when it opened. ...It was a few weeks ago...it's about time these were up..aha

So here they are. I found black candy melts in Michaels! Very exciting! So I HAD to try them the same day! They work as well as the other melts..tricky, but they look cool! Aaaaand I made a cardboard cutout of the avengers symbol :) hehe I'm a dork...we three dorks <3

AVENGERS!! (which by the way was sooo good!! I've seen it twice now..and maaay see it again. :) ) Dork! ;)

Super cake / Birthday Part II

Whats a birthday without a birthday cake?! Whats better than a birthday cake? Your favorite SUPER HERO birthday cake! Of course! aha For Justins cake for I chose to do the lantern corp. We have the green lantern in the center surrounded by all the other lantern symbols. I cut out and drew each of the small pieces with fondant/gumpaste and food writers. :) Then stuck them on with buttercream.

 Happy birthday boy!
You can't see it, but its also green cake!! hehe ! :)
I'm so happy with this cake! It didn't take very long to do(well..after I made all the little pieces) and I think it turned exactly as I had intended. Always good. :)

Super Pops! / Birthday Part I

There is a certain guy in my life who just had a birthday! While not a BIG birthday (soon though!!! haha) I wanted to make him feel special!! <3 So a big huge super-deee-duuper happy birthday to Mr. Justin Musclow!! I made him his favorite super hero cake pops! I didn't get a photo of it, but the cake on the inside corresponds with the hero symbol on the outside :) (superman = blue, batman = yellow, flash= red, and green lantern... =well....Not green... sigh. I broke 4 green pops!!!! ...so it was yellow in there... *sigh again) lol

Regardless of the colour that is hiding beneath the black chocolate I love the way they turned out! And said birthday boy was very happy. :)

It's not finished here though!! I also made him a cake!!! I MUST love this guy?!?! ;) Stay tuned for his green cake!! (it actually turned out green too!! lol making up for the lack of green in the hero pops!)

Lovely cake

I made this pretty cake for a lady at work. She told me it was her birthday and I didn't believe her!! lol I asked for her ID!! She said she didn't want us to know it was her birthday so to keep it hushed...So.. I made her a cake! ahaha I wanted her to celebrate and to make her feel special!

I found a photo online of a really cute cake with lace trim and I wanted to try it out! So I made up a little pattern here in white. I used different cutters and some icing tips for the small shapes. Then I used the cut out pieces to add a little something to the top <3 I'm really pleased with how it turned out. :)

I'm a little less pleased with the cake shape. I didn't trim it so it was perfectly rounded..looks like I should have!!yeesh! lol Next time!!!!

It was a big hit at work!

PS. It was a cherry cake! mmmmmm yum!

Welcoming baby Kaeden

A sweet little girl I know is soon to be a mamma <3

For her baby shower she requested two things: Egg salad sandwiches and my cake pops! lol :) Bring on the baby pops!!

This is my second baby shower, AND second boy! I certainly didn't want to make the same pops as before! So I made ducks! <3 And I wanted to make it extra special so I spelled out his name with blocks.

Welcome to baby Kaeden! We're waiting for you! Come out now!

PINK!

  Pretty pink purse party cupcakes.

I was in a bit of a time crunch with these cupcakes. It was kind of a last minute order so I decided to go simple & pretty for the occasion.(No purses this time) :)

 Early morning C-cakes...

It was the day of delivery and I realized at 7am I had forgotten to dress them the night before!! So I whipped up some pink frosting and white flowers and got them ready to go :) (which was the original plan..just not in the early AM lol)

I love how they turned out! The colour was just perfect for a girly gathering. :)

Happy Birthday C-cakes

Everyone loves a cupcake on their birthday! Here are a couple birthday c-cakes I did.

For this first one, I made the ribbon with white fondant then painted it blue..next time I think that making the fondant blue first would be ideal..it was a little messy this way. :) It was a red velvet cupcake made special for a friend of a friend :)
These green and blue minis were fun to make. I tried to experiment with different cut outs but I ended up sticking with the birthday button shapes :) They remind me a little of comic book shapes! POW! lol
