Christmas Sweater time

I hope you all have your ugly sweaters on! :D I don't have one sadly. If I could actually own one of these ugly sweaters it would absolutely be the red Rudolph one! Maybe I'll look into making one!! haha

It has been non stop cookie making at my house for the month of December. Everyday more and more cookies...These sweater cookies were a welcomed break from the traditional Christmas cookie shapes I'd been making for weeks. I have one order left to be delivered and all my Christmas orders will be finished. While it's been a ton of fun, I am happy to have a bit of a break - I have decorated well over 1000 cookies this season :D I'm very proud, and very pleased with the excited reactions the cookies have evoked from all my wonderful customers! Thank you everyone! And Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas 2013

Hello everyone and Merry Christmas to you and yours :)
I hope you all have had a safe and happy day :)

YUM!

I don't know about all of you, but I LOVE eggnog. I was walking through Wal-mart a little while ago and did a double take when I saw the eggnog sitting on the shelf!! This time of year I cannot even think about having coffee without it! So why not bake with it?!

Here are some eggnog cupcakes I made a few weeks ago. I really liked the cake recipe but something (to me) went wrong in the frosting...it was cream cheese frosting with eggnog in it..but it just didn't do it for me.
I found a recipe the other day for eggnog cookies. Guess what I'm making this week?!

Big miracle baby shower

This cake is themed after the nursery of one tough little guy :) I was sent some photos of the colour and design of the room and asked to model a cake from it. Here is what I came up with :)

I really like the colours they chose :) And I'm happy with the way the cake turned out :)
I'd really like to just post about Christmas, but I have a HUGE back log of photos to get to here... :) So I'll just space it all out ! Have a great day!!

Happy Monday! ;)

Pink!

I made this fight like a girl cake to be auctioned off at a charity bake sale :)

I've been asked to make breast cancer theme treats a few times now and it is something that I just love donating to.. It really makes me feel good to be able to help out this way <3

I may be doing some breast cancer ribbon cookies next year! :)
I also really love the fight like a girl theme :) I've seen it a few times and think it really sends a strong message :)

December!!

Get your mitts on! December has arrived!!! Can you believe that?! Where has the year gone?! I have been so SO busy with Christmas cookies for the past few weeks, and have lots to share!! So to get things rolling...(haha) here are a few Cookies that I made - these ones weren't for an order, they were the first non-tree shapes I made this year and was just playing with some ideas :)

If you've been following me since the beginning you know that it's been mostly cake pops, cupcakes and cakes up until now! Cookies are the new thing and I've fallen completely in love with decorating cookies!! There are so many possibilities!
I find when I have to go to work in the morning all I wish I could do is stay home and decorate!! (One day... :) )

Christmas is on its way! That means Christmas parties, work parties, family shindigs, and if you want some cookies send me an email for a quote! MollysMixingBowl@yahoo.ca
I do have a special on Christmas trays - For 2 dozen decorated cookies it's $30 and for 2 dozen assorted (included some non decorated) it's $25.

Also, pop over to my facebook page for my 12 days of Christmas event happening now! We're already on day 4!!

The show!!!

As some of you may know, I participated in my first ever bridal show this year!!! Back in September (Yikes! I know!) I was asked if I would like to have a table in the Sass bridal event on September 8th. Uh..YES!!!!

It was fairly short notice so i got right to work!!!! I made 500 of these mini cake pops to give away as samples to all the brides. The pink were chocolate raspberry, turquoise: butter pecan, yellow : vanilla, and purple was chocolate. :) They were a huge hit at the show!!

To fill my table I made three dummy cakes. For those who don't know, they are styrofoam cakes decorated to look like real ones :) The order of the photos is A) the order they were made, and B) my least to most favorite.

First up, is just a plain cake with black ribbons...I think before I do the next show (In February!!!!) I'm going to change the ribbon to make it a little thicker.

Second is this pretty little thing! Just in time for the show one of my online orders came in!! A pearl mould in 3 sizes!!! I was so so excited for its arrival I wasted no time getting started making pretty pink pearls! :) and carnations!(I ordered a few things on line that week haha)
And third, my most favorite!!!! It's so pretty. I could NOT for the life of my think of what to do for a third cake. I tried to make a super tall silver cake...it looked rather spacey and it had to be destroyed... haha that was fun. It was 2 nights before the big day and I still had zero thoughts, and a very white styrofoam dummy looking me in the face. My wonderful fiance, being the wise man he is started throwing ideas my way and googling cakes for me. This is the beautiful flower we found!!! I had never made it before, and had no cutters, no stemens...but I pulled it off! And just in time! :) I am so proud of this little cake! I can't wait to have it on display again!
Then the day arrived!!! This was my table!(Me on the right and Ginny[my best friend and huge supporter of MMB on the left]) This shot was just before the show...waiting for the crowds. And they did come! We were busy all day! Fortunately we didn't run out of anything! Except business cards!!!! All gone!!! It was a huge success! I cannot wait until February for the next one!
I have so many new ideas and plans for the next show!!! :D

Man cake

Wow. Hi everyone! I am a slacker when it comes to posting! Yeesh!  I'm off today and tomorrow, from work, and from MMB work, so that means I have a bit of time to do some updating!! :) Here goes!

This cake...was..detailed! (As you can see)

The Brock Badgers are the Brock University sports teams! This cake was for a lad on the wrestling team on his 21st birthday :)

Hahah I called it a man cake because unlike the cakes I usually do this one screams that it is  NOT for a girl! (It's a wee bit scary actually lol)

This cake was very detail oriented, right down to the custom hand cut lettering that I did!!

Winter is coming...

UGH! I am not a cold weather person!!! Being born and raised in Canada it doesn't really make sense! Right?! I should love the snow! The cold! Baah, it's horrible! The only thing that gets me through the winter season is the fact that Christmas is in the middle! I <3 Christmas!!

I realize that I've completely skipped over Halloween this year. There..isn't very much to say about it...I just missed it..lol sorry Halloween fans.  (I.. started a little Christmas baking today - for an order- but Christmas baking on October 30 I LOVE IT!)

Anyway, to get ready for the change in temperature...here are some curling rock cake pops I made. (In August- sorry for the crazy delay) I've personally never played the sport (it's probably cold..) but I've watched a couple of games from the heated stands. It's...I..well I don't get it. But theses were for a birthday boy who plays! And he loved them! :)
 Haha, kinda fun eh? ;)

Party Animals

I love a challenge! LOVE. So when Justins cousin asked if I could make farm animal cake pops....I said of course!! :) and I did it!! :D

They were so fun to make. Fun to watch them come alive! :D And then...we took them camping! haha

This is the birthday girl Carolyn with her favorite treats!! She was so disappointed when I told her they were for another birthday and that I had delivered them the previous night! Hahah just kidding!!
These were cake pops in the wild. They were packed into a box and placed in the cooler in the boat we brought with us camping. ...through and extremely back way bumpy forest road! Only one of them didn't make it! Yay
YUM!

And for funsies we took these photos of them post first bites....the pig sort of looks like a zombie pig..with brains coming out. Haha love it.

Happy Sunday Funday!

Dirty Piggies!!

Hahah naked piggies takin a dip! :)

I love this cake and it was a huge success! :) Pigs in the mud!
 Oink oink!
