Garden party cake

This cake was made to be a replica of the birthday boys backyard garden party last year. It is difficult to make a house shape that is hollow and able to stand on its own. If there was no shed I would have maybe liked this one a little more...but you can see in the first photo on the left that the shed is a big part of this particular back yard :)

Mothers Day

There is a special day that comes once a year, a day where we celebrate the women who carried us for  9 months, birthed us, and have cared for us continually since then. And that day is just around the corner! Celebrate mum this year with some super cute flower pot cake pops ;)

Fly fishing

This cake was really fun to make. I was asked to model the little guy on top after the birthday boy, and told that he is an avid fly fisherman. So here is his awesome birthday cake! :D

I prefer to not make people...but I'm getting better at it :) Practice makes perfect right? ;)

Wedding Cookies

As some of you know I have been frequently the bridal show seen :) So far I've done 3. I have 2 more so far this year and a craft show coming up. I love doing the shows,  if gives me a chance to really get myself out there (a task that is very daunting) A chance to get started in the wedding side of cakes :)

I was (and love to) experimenting with different ideas for wedding take aways, and these were my first wedding cookies. I also wanted to try out sugar veil. For those who don't know it's a a sugar mixture that you can place in moles (such a lace) and when it comes out its is a nice flexible, edible, sugar product that can be wrapped around cakes, and cookies and cake pops. It's very pretty! The trouble with this product is that the moulds are very expensive, and I only have one heart mould! It makes six hearts at a time and it takes a very very long time to dry! Overnight! So unless I get a few thousand more of these moulds, (lol) the cookies can't really become part of my cookie line up.

Sure are pretty though :)

Footbaaall

As per my norm, this cake is from December...Only 4 months ago....yeesh! Eh, better late than never ;) I'm really working on catching up from 2013, I've got some great things to show you from this year so far and we're heading into April! So many more cakes and treats to come! I've booked 3.5 weddings this summer!!! It's going to be a great year for MMB!

This cake was fun to do, I struggled a little with getting the shape of the cake right, but it turned out pretty well I thought. It was the first time I tried to do the character art by drawing on fondant with edible markers. I like the effect. (I just made a cake today-no spoilers- all the are around the cake is drawn like this one, and I cannot wait to share that cake! It's perfect if I may say so :) )

Tonight, I'll be trying my hand at macarones... I'm excited about trying them (I have no idea what to expect..) and I'm a little nervous about how they'll turn out. First try can't be perfect though :)

Happy baking! ;)

Stella!!!

This little lady, through her grandma, has become one of my best customers. Here we have the cake and cupcakes from her baptism, and then her first birthday!

What I love most about these orders is the constant use of pink! :) I love little girly cakes!

This birthday cake was fun. She wanted pink and purple with butterflies, so I tried something new. I wanted a pink to purple gradient with the butterflies...took a lot of butterflies :) turned out to be pretty cute...from some angles it looks a little pointy hahah

Happy Monday!

Happy 50th Birthday Dad!!

As mentioned previously, today is my dads 50th birthday :) Yesterday evening was his birthday party and this is what I made !  If you can't tell...he's a steelers fan.. ;)

I filled the cake with sparklers to make it awesome and I set of the smoke detectors...lol Really if it were 50 candles it would have happened anyway ;)

I am MOST proud of the cookies!! To date, I think these are the best cookies I've done so far! :) They's so fun! :D I couldn't stop taking photos!
Happy birthday DAD!! Love you!

Simple C-cakes

These pink 35's are a simple way to celebrate a birthday be it special or ....who am I kidding! They're all special!

If anyone knows me, they know that on MY birthday I like to be the princess! :) Most people like to take the day off work...not this girl. I'd rather go to work with a birthday tiara on so everyone knows it my birthday! I don't want to stay home alone!! :D This year on my birthday, I will be newly married! (Literally, the day before my birthday) and getting on a plain to a surprise destination honey moon chosen by my hubby to be :) I will indeed be a princess this year!! :D

Speaking of special birthdays!! Tomorrow my dear ol dad turns 5-0! That's a big birthday!! Hmmmm....what shall I bake for him?! ....
